first, let me agree with many that a vp pick is relatively
unimportant.

That said, for what little importance is attached to it, obama hit a
home run with his vp pick(and I correctly predicted the pick). Forget
what the clueless msm is saying about why it's a good pick.....hell
the msm up until friday night was still repeating the nonsense that
dlc queen evan bayh(who I kept saying many times had ZERO chance to
get the nominee) was one of the finalk three. The reason why it's a
good vp pick is because biden is a pick that people certainly feel
safe with and biden is a guy who will have no problem bending mccain
over and doing very very bad things to him. Im predicting that joe
biden will become the #1 attack dog on mccain, and heck there is a
bunch to attack, and that he will be very good at it.

Also, consider that this is a more important vp pick because this is
the person who is actually likely to *be our* vp. When someone like
dole in 1996 picks kemp as his running mate, people just sort of shrug
and move on because the expectation is that this person wont end up
being vp and will fade out of the spotlight in a few months. And
thats pretty much the way people will view mccains vp selection. But
when the presumptive president picks a nominee for vp, you tend to
treat him not so much as a potential vp but more as the vp a few
months down the line.

As for all these right wingers who are bringing up past statements by
Biden where he has disagreed with obama, three points:

1) biden is his own man. It's a good thing that he isn't lockstep
with obama.
2) part of that is the nature of the primaries.
3) If the gop is going to make an issue out of the disagreements obama
and biden have had, that will be hilarious considering 1 of the 2 top
contenders for the gop #2(romney) has about 500 quotes just ripping
into mccain and tearing him a new one.

Regardless, it was a *great* week for democrats. Buzz for the
colorado convention is off the charts. The gop convention will half
1/3 the people there, half the tv audience, and about 10% of the
buzz. This is a going to be a great weekend for our president in a
few months.

to some degree yes, but we had 8 years of clinton(who was hated by
*some* white suprem. types) and nothing close to an attempt on him.
Obama certainly has a better chance to serve out 4 years while staying
alive than mccain, and most def. 8 years......

This post manages to pack in more stupidity in one post than I think
I've ever seen. "Bend him over"? Do you not remember the "clean"
negro statement? Biden is in competition with Boxer for the village
idiot of the Senate. The rest is similarly stoopid.

Then why are you so in favor of a socialist for president? Don't you
understand that socialized medicine HAS to follow his other ideas of
socialism?

I read last week where doctors who refuse to treat the poor and ill
imms may lose their reimbursement from Medicare - and that's just a
liberal congress w/o a socialist president.
